Dr Gijs Wallis de Vries an architectural historian at the University of Eindhoven. He obtained his PhD with a dissertation on "Piranesi and the idea of the beautiful city" in 1990, and has published a number of articles and papers on Piranesi since then.

About Us and the Originals of the Book

Art in Limited Editions is a publishing house located in the Netherlands that is producing and publishing Piranesi's Vedute di Roma.

The book includes full reproductions of all the 135 etchings of the Vedute di Roma made by Giambattista Piranesi in the 18th century (plus the 2 etchings made by his son Francesco and the Pianta di Roma e del Campo Marzo) and is produced directly from a complete original Piranesi catalogue. (The Pianta will be a nine-fold inlay.)
